Meet the Expert: Juanita Baker

At Influence Health, our blog contributors are our subject matter experts, including Juanita Baker. Juanita is a Digital Strategy and Marketing Consultant. Here are 7 questions to get to know her better.

1. What's your day-to-day look like?

As part of the strategy and creative team here at Influence Health, my current day-to-day consists of internal and client meetings. My focus throughout the week is analyzing the effectiveness of client websites, seeking to understand client’s business objectives, developing strategies to enhance their digital presence and then communicating recommendations in a way that clients can understand and achieve internal stakeholder buy-in.

2. What’s the one lesson you’ve learned in this business that’s stuck with you?

I have worked in healthcare for 20-plus years and it is ever evolving; therefore, you must remain flexible, willing to learn and try new things, open to shifting direction and possess the ability to be an excellent storyteller when communicating with your internal stakeholders the “why” behind the shift.

3. What’s one thing you wish our clients knew about Influence Health?

We are strategic, visionary and love to help solve our client’s business objectives. My colleagues at Influence Health are resourceful, dedicated and work tirelessly to exceed client expectations. We have a talented group of team members who are always looking to improve best practices in the healthcare industry.

4. What’s the next big thing you’re working on?

I am working on quite a few big projects, but one that sticks out is developing the personalization strategy framework on our new COD 10 platform.

5. What irks you the most about healthcare today?

The disconnect between what’s being delivered and what consumers actually want or need. We have to do a better job at meeting the consumer where they are in their consumer journey process and then deliver relevant, timely information. If we can do this, the consumer’s digital experience will be met + the healthcare organization will see an increase in ROI.

6. What matters the most to you as a healthcare consumer?

I do not have any medical issues, so preventative care is especially important to me so that I can live a long, healthy life. I want a doctor or nurse who will care for me as a person and take the time to answer my questions and provide their professional expertise. After all, I am a paying customer.

7. What’s your biggest health vice: coffee, tea, chocolate, sugar, carbs?

I have a LOVE of coffee. Whether from our regular coffee pot, Keurig, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or the cute coffee shops we find throughout our travels – coffee is definitely my vice!
