CHRISTUS Health Wins 2012 MEDSEEK eHealth Excellence Award
MEDSEEK, the provider of the healthcare industry’s only enterprise strategic patient engagement and management solutions, today announced CHRISTUS Health as the overall winner of the eHealth Excellence Awards. The announcement was made during the 2012 MEDSEEK eHealth Client Congress in Washington, DC, in recognition of the outstanding contributions made to the advancement of e-health by CHRISTUS. ”CHRISTUS Health was honored to receive this award,” said Linda McClung, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, CHRISTUS Health. “We strive to keep our focus on our patients, residents and customers—all those we are privileged to serve—whether they are in our hospitals or using our website to search for health information online. We know that the ability to exchange health data and information electronically will be critical to not only improving care, but will also lead to a better patient experience. Our ability to provide safe, coordinated, high quality care is crucial as we strive to honor the legacy of our founders by remaining a thriving health care system for another 140 years,” McClung said. Teri Cardenas, CHRISTUS’ Senior System Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications, accepted the award on behalf of the Dallas-based Catholic health system. As a large, geographically dispersed health system, CHRISTUS overcame many challenges to achieve its goals of meeting healthcare reform and Meaningful Use requirements, improving patient satisfaction and connectivity, acquiring patients despite fierce competition, and building profitable volume through targeted marketing campaigns and patient portal initiatives. The health system has made great strides in consolidating its digital health strategy, implementing a standard web platform for its 22 owned hospitals with consistent branding and the ability to gather demographic information for use in marketing campaigns. CHRISTUS also deployed a mobile site to engage the growing number of patients who access the web via smart devices, and continues to engage marketing, IT and operations in a collaborative strategy to deliver online and mobile solutions to improve the patient experience. In 2011, CHRISTUS saw a 385% return on marketing investment (ROMI), a response rate of 15.5%, and a $2.5 Million boost to revenues. “MEDSEEK and CHRISTUS share a common vision for the digital transformation of health care,” said Peter Kuhn, MEDSEEK CEO. “CHRISTUS has shown a tremendous commitment to e-health and to employing digital health solutions to engage patients and improve the patient experience. Previous winners of MEDSEEK’s eHealth Excellence Award include Henry Ford Health System, Alegent Health, Hamilton Health System, MedStar Health and Spectrum Health.
